MANDALAS
The word "mandala" in Sanskrit means circle, and it symbolizes the universe. In art, a mandala is a complex circular design, intended to draw the eye to its center.

MATERIALS
The mandalas and shrines which I make are "mixed media" with a wabi sabi (rustic) feeling about them -- often including items from flea markets, or materials found in nature.

They range in size from about 12 to 18 inches (30 to 45cm.) in diameter.
